Position Summary:
Positions open in Avon and Carbondale. Pay range: $80,000 – $130,000.
Responsible for total construction effort to ensure home is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. The Superintendent will ensure the profitability and reputation of the company are optimized through field planning and efficiency without jeopardizing the quality, safety, cost or completion of the project.
Primary Accountabilities:
Manages total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Responsible for all matters pertaining to jobsite safety, project schedule, quality control for all work, and adherence to project budget, ensuring all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, health and safety program requirements, etc. Works effectively and efficiently with each project’s Project Manager as appropriate.
Responsible for assuring projects meet all contractual requirements. Specifically, managing all employees, laborers, temporary employees and subcontractors and other necessary personnel as required by the contract. Manages all project subordinates, including coaching, counseling, training, regular appraisal, performance management and has significant say in hiring and firing decisions.
Plan, coordinate and supervise all onsite functions (scheduling and material control).
Responsible for maintenance of records on all safety violations, notifying project management, and recommends and implements corrective actions as required. Establishes and executes training plains for assigned employees.
Responsible for the productivity of craft and other laboring personnel, efficient use of materials & equipment, and overall performance of the project in accordance with the contracts.
Responsible for adhering to all safety protocols.
Daily attendance is required.
Secondary Accountabilities:
Acts as company liaison with clients, municipalities, design consultants, OSHA inspectors, other contractors, surrounding neighbors, subcontractors, government authorities, suppliers, etc. Maintains good relationship and communication with each project’s Project Manager.
May authorize and/or approve project personnel selections, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc. Manage and document all necessary paperwork for Project Manager.
Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretations of drawings, clarification, coordination, recommending construction methods, installation and ordering of materials/equipment, etc. as required. Provide quality standards. Assign personnel to projects along with management and Project Managers. Work closely with Project Managers for material and equipment procurement.
Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
Attend weekly OAC meetings and quarterly status meetings.

Knowledge:

Job Function/Purpose:
Provides overall management direction of internal team for one or more projects, establishes project objectives and policies, initiates and maintains liaison with clients, owners, municipalities, design review board, HOA personnel, architects, engineers, designers, subcontractors and suppliers. Responsible for the administration, contractual requirements and overall profitability of the projects. This position acts as the transition from pre-construction to construction.
Primary Accountabilities:
Manage all aspects of construction of assigned project to ensure project is built on or ahead of schedule and under or within budget and in accordance with the contract documents and to the appropriate level of quality, all in conjunction with the Superintendent. Must establish and assure maintenance of project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards in accordance with Company standards
Responsible for submittals, RFI’s, ASI’s and ensuring that materials are on site when needed.
Manage all financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to assure financial obligations are met, minimizing financial or other risks, and liaising with Accountants, sub-contractors and owners.
Responsible for planning, organizing, delegation and oversight of team members’ duties for assigned project to ensure timely completion in order to facilitate construction and ensure profitability.
Prepare and conduct monthly cost to complete meetings.
Acts as Company representative in project, negotiating and strategic meetings, and negotiates on behalf of Company as necessary. Participates in all internal project meetings to inform Senior Management, Estimating, etc. of project progress, procedures, etc.

Upper Basin Excavating (Avon): Foreman ($32-$40/hr): This position will organize, direct and control the work of field personnel as well as schedule equipment in order to meet project objectives of safety, cost, quality, equipment, and sustainability.
Upper Basin Excavating (Avon): Operator ($25-$34/hr): This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. “Heavy equipment” includes, but is not limited to trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, dozers, compactors, skid steers, and other pieces of equipment. This position must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by manufacturer policies and procedures.
